Reiki is not about casting "spells" or about manipulating others. Reiki can only be used positively for the highest good - whether you use it for yourself or others.

You can't use Reiki with negative intentions - it is a positive life enhancing energy that will only flow when used with good intentions. For example, if you want to "control" or manipulate someone using Reiki, you would be "barking up the wrong tree!" 

In any event, it is wise to remember that what you give eventually always comes back to you.

Treat Reiki energy with respect, respect yourself, respect others ... be aware you are an integral part of the Universe and the Universe is a part of you.
